Winter skin is no joke. It seems the minute the temperature drops just 5-10 degrees, boom! My skin just shrivels. So it’s time to make a conscious effort to moisturize and hydrate my skin more frequently than just when out of the shower or before bed at night.
I typically use fragrance-free, sensitive skin lotion because my skin is sensitive and I’m allergic to everything. I was skeptical when a box of highly fragranced lotion arrived from DERMA E. However, I read that DERMA E products are all 100% vegan and free from parabens, sodium lauryl sulfates, petrolatum, mineral oil, artificial colors, gluten, soy and GMOs. So I figured my skin might like it after all!
Using a scented lotion is a new experience for me! My favorite scent is the Lemongrass & Thyme Restoring Shea Body Lotion, which nourishes and energizes the skin’s natural moisture barrier and moisturize dull, dry skin. It was so exciting to have a scented lotion on for once, and not get itchy afterwards!
I particularly like that the body lotions also come in smaller “hand and cuticle cream” formulations that are easy to toss into your purse. This past weekend, we headed up to Lake Havasu for our engagement photo shoot. I was worried because my hands were sooooo dry and I knew the photographers would want to take close-up shots of my ring. I obsessively rubbed in the Vitamin E Fragrance-Free Therapeutic Moisture Shea Hand Cream on the drive up, and was pleasantly moisturized by the time we took photos!
How do you handle dry winter skin? Let me know in the comments!
