LA is such a fashion mecca. We have some of the most talented, creative, boundary-pushing fashion designers in the world, second only to New York City. That’s why I love discovering new local boutiques and shopping items that no one else will have – but everyone will covet!
My newest find is Goldie’s, located in Long Beach, Ventura and Fullerton, and online at https://shopatgoldies.com/.
Their motto, “Unique picks, vintage-inspired design, and sunny California style for creative girls and inspiring women” pretty much says everything you need to know. Goldie’s carries all your bohemian needs, from flowy maxi dresses to funky silk printed blouses, wide-leg cropped pants, tassel kimonos and more.
I’ve been trying to “funk up” my style and wear weirder, bolder, more statement-making pieces. After all, fashion is art, and it should be fun. You have to wear clothes everyday (damn society), so you might as well have some fun with getting dressed!
I rocked this Boho embroidered pixie hem dress in marigold (it also comes in navy, cream and sky). I broke two of my usual fashion rules here: It’s a maxi dress (I prefer short dresses) and it’s a super bright gold (I’m a fan of white, black and neutrals). However, the dress also has sleeves, a v-neck cut and a nipped-in waist, things I love.
I felt like such a pretty princess walking down the street in this dress. The long length, and my tall brown wedges from Payless Shoesource, made me feel 100 feet tall and super confident. I knew the color was bold, but I decided to exude confidence rather than self-consciousness.
The size medium was a bit large on me, so I styled the dress with this brown braided belt from Fashion Q. I added some more bohemian funk with this turquoise triangle bangle from Aqua Kiwi, gold and rose gold stacked rings from 7 Charming Sisters and my favorite gold monogram “B” necklace from boho jewelry queen Ettika.
