Summer is here (even though this week is a bit gray) which means that fresh fruit sounds pretty amazing. I love smoothies, but I’m allergic to most fruits, so I’m quite limited on which fruit products I can eat. To avoid the stress of food allergies, I decided to make my own pineapple mango smoothie at home, and it was delicious. So I thought I’d share this super quick, easy and cheap recipe with you all! :)
- 1.5 cups canned cubed pineapple (about 1 can)
- 1.5 cups sliced mango (about 1 can)
- 1 cup pineapple juice (you can get this from the can of pineapple, or buy Dole pineapple juice)
- 3 cups ice
All you do now is blend! This turns out more like a slushie, kind of like a frozen juice beverage. To thicken it up and make it more smoothie-esque, add plain nonfat yogurt to the mix!
And voila. You’ve got a healthy breakfast or snack.
