OOTD: Blue Tassel Dress

I instantly fell in love with this dress at Forever 21. I was on the lookout for a trendy, bohemian-style dress that was also figure-flattering. Unfortunately right now, this is easier said than done! Almost everything at Forever 21 was like a blanket. I tried on XS shift dresses, tank dresses, flowy dresses and even tops and everything just sat there on me like a muumuu. The designers are going too “flowy” and are completely forgetting about females’ bodies.

This dress is the exception. Although it is definitely flowy (wide skirt, oversize bell sleeves), it is also figure-flattering. The low v-cut shows some cleavage, and the nipped-in waist shows that you have a figure under all that material. I knew I could wear this dress to brunch, to a day party, to work or even to a work function! The perfect item.

The tassels are definitely my favorite part of the dress. I think they look a little weird tied in a bow, so I often tie them together and then let them hang out. They’re funky and also fun to play with when you are stuck in traffic and bored.

Because this dress is already so busy, with the loud print, funky sleeves and tassels, I decided to skip accessories. I paired the dress with basic brown wedges from Target. I’m obsessed with these wedges – they are so comfortable and cute and go with everything.
