When the weather is cold and gloomy, it can be really tempting to stay inside in your sweats with a blanket and watch movies or read.
Sometimes that’s necessary. And other times, it’s important to put on your big girl pants and seize the day.
I find that when I’m sad or in a bad mood for whatever reason, it usually boosts my spirits to wear bright and happy colors. I’m not sure exactly why, although there is a lot of science to support the way colors affect our emotions.
On one recent gloomy day (it’s so crappy when nice days come for a short while then it returns to winter, like a tease) I decided to go full-on neon with my outfit.
I paired this super-soft and warm bright orange sweater with white pants (yes, you can wear white year-round, this isn’t the 1920s). As if that wasn’t enough, I decided to add my favorite hot pink Barbie heels to go neon from top to bottom.
I got so many compliments on my outfit, but aside from that, I felt happy and “neon” myself every time I looked down at my outfit!
