I got so excited when I found this pencil skirt at Charlotte Russe. The color is hard to describe. It’s kinda pink, kinda purple, a little warm, a little cool, a little muted. I decided to call it “dusty rose.”
The funky color opened up a lot of possibilities for styling. I decided to play off the muted “dusty” color and work with gray. These gray suede stiletto ankle booties are from Payless Shoesource. I love how they totally have similar color undertones as the skirt.
For a top, I had to find something that would mesh. I figured a gray shirt would just be overboard, so I opted for this plain black v-neck t-shirt from H&M instead.
At first, I tried styling this outfit with silver jewelry, since gray should be paired with silver. But it just didn’t seem right. It seemed boring and expected. Instead, I chose to wear this gold and pearl necklace from Forever 21. Surprisingly, the gold doesn’t clash with the gray at all. In fact, the floral details really emphasize the girliness of the rose skirt, and ties it all together.
