OOTD: Jazz Up Black and White

It’s winter, and black is the go-to. It transitions well from day to night, it’s a quintessential winter color and you couldn’t wear it much in the summer because you would overheat. But black doesn’t have to be boring!

I started with a not-so-boring LBD from Forever 21. At first glance, this looks like just an ordinary black knit long-sleeved dress. But on closer examination, you can see the ruching on the sides and the way the dress is cut to taper in and show off your figure! Play this feature down during the daytime, and emphasize it at night.

I wanted to keep the outfit pretty simple, but eye-catching, so I chose black and white accessories. This circle scarf from Charming Charlie is literally my new favorite thing! I LOVE the black and white Chevron print. For one, I’m a sucker for Chevron prints, and two, I love black and white together. Third, the circle scarf cut ensures that there are no messy scarf ends to deal with – there’s nothing worse than having to constantly readjust that coming-unraveled scarf during the day to make it look tidy yet unraveled but not sloppily unraveled…oh the trials and tribulations of being a woman.
