As much as I love the bodysuit idea, and the clean lines they are supposed to promote, it is really really hard to find a good one. After all, in order to produce those clean, perfect lines underneath skirts or jeans, a bodysuit has to fit you perfectly. That means not too short in the torso, not too tight in the back (hello, back fat / bra bulges) and not too tight in the arms.
When I found a bodysuit that fit me (almost) perfectly, I snatched it up in every color.
I was hesitant to purchase white at first, thinking black and other dark colors would be more figure-flattering. But thanks to Lulu’s free returns policy, I am making bigger and bolder fashion decisions (because they are risk free!). I ended up loving this white long-sleeved bodysuit!
I decided to take it on a spin for a family night out at an Irish bar to welcome Sean’s New York-based uncle into town. Yes, I’m aware that wearing white while drinking red wine, or at a bar in general, is very risky, but it turned out ok!
Light super-shredded jeans, a brown belt and brown heels rounded out the look. When tucking a bodysuit into jeans, the lines just aren’t right. You definitely need a belt to break up the look and tie everything together. I found this belt at my salon, Bella Allure in Temecula, which recently launched a sweet in-salon boutique!
I loved this outfit and will definitely be breaking it out again. Do you like bodysuits? Where have you found the most figure-flattering ones? Let me know in the comments!
